Privacy and GDPR
The privacy features in the product: consent preferences, data export and account deletion. For how we handle personal data, read the privacy policy.
What these features are for
Scrappy gives you tools to help you meet GDPR obligations: consent records, data export, account deletion and suppression lists. From Settings > Privacy you can:
- Export your account data
- Delete your account and its data
- Manage your consent preferences
Using these tools does not by itself make your use of the leads you collect compliant. For that data you are the controller; see the terms of service.
Consent management
Manage your consent preferences from Settings > Privacy:
- Terms of Service: Required to use Scrappy
- Privacy Policy: Required to use Scrappy
- Marketing emails: Optional, can be toggled anytime
Viewing consent history
You can view a complete history of your consent changes, including timestamps and IP addresses, for audit purposes.
Data export
Request an export of your account data:
- Go to Settings > Privacy
- Click "Export My Data"
- Choose format (JSON or CSV)
- Wait for export to complete
- Download within 24 hours
What's included in an export
- Your profile information
- All projects and their settings
- All sources and configurations
- All leads (non-deleted)
- Recent job history (last 100)
- Recent markdown exports (last 50)
- Consent history
- Export request history
Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data:
- Go to Settings > Privacy
- Click "Delete My Account"
- Confirm via email (token valid for 24 hours)
- 30-day grace period begins
- Account is permanently deleted after grace period
What gets deleted
- Your user account
- All projects you own
- All sources in your projects
- All leads in your projects
- All jobs and exports
- All consent records
What we retain
For audit purposes, a record that the deletion happened is kept for 2 years.
Data retention
These are the default retention periods. Automatic enforcement of them is being rolled out, so delete what you no longer need yourself in the meantime.
