Privacy & GDPR

Your data rights, consent management, data export, and account deletion.

Your Privacy Rights

Scrappy is fully GDPR compliant. You have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Export your data
  • Delete your account and all data
  • Manage your consent preferences

Consent Management

Manage your consent preferences from Settings > Privacy:

  • Terms of Service: Required to use Scrappy
  • Privacy Policy: Required to use Scrappy
  • Marketing Emails: Optional, can be toggled anytime

Viewing Consent History

You can view a complete history of your consent changes, including timestamps and IP addresses, for audit purposes.

Data Export

Request a complete export of all your data (Subject Access Request):

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy
  2. Click "Export My Data"
  3. Choose format (JSON or CSV)
  4. Wait for export to complete
  5. Download within 7 days

Rate Limit: You can request up to 3 data exports per week.

What's Included in Export

  • Your profile information
  • All projects and their settings
  • All sources and configurations
  • All leads (non-deleted)
  • Recent job history (last 100)
  • Recent markdown exports (last 50)
  • Consent history
  • Export request history

Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data:

  1. Go to Settings > Privacy
  2. Click "Delete My Account"
  3. Confirm via email (token valid for 24 hours)
  4. 30-day grace period begins
  5. Account is permanently deleted after grace period

Grace Period: You can cancel deletion at any time during the 30-day grace period. After that, deletion is permanent and irreversible.

What Gets Deleted

  • Your user account
  • All projects you own
  • All sources in your projects
  • All leads in your projects
  • All jobs and exports
  • All consent records

What We Retain

For legal and audit purposes, we retain minimal deletion records (no personally identifiable information) for 2 years.

Data Retention

Our data retention policies:

  • Active accounts: Data retained indefinitely
  • Deleted leads: Soft deleted, then hard deleted per policy
  • Job logs: 24 hours for completed, 7 days for failed
  • Markdown exports: 7 days for completed, 14 days for failed
  • Audit logs: 2 years
