Deal campaigns
A deal campaign takes the description of a deal and works out who to approach. It discovers sources that list the right kind of company, suggests rules for scoring them, and ends with a ranked list of accounts.
What it is for
Scraping one source gives you a list. A campaign ties several steps together around one goal: you say what the deal is, and each step narrows a broad market down to the accounts most likely to fit. The campaign page tracks where you are and keeps the sources, jobs and results in one place.
Create a campaign
Open Campaigns in the dashboard sidebar. There are two ways to start.
From deal parameters
- Create a new campaign and give it a name.
- Fill in the deal parameters: the deal size range, the loan types and specialty structures you are looking for, any states to exclude, and notes.
- If you have a pitch deck, upload the PDF (up to 10 MB) and Scrappy fills the parameters in from it for you to review.
From a brief
Choose Campaign from Brief and upload a deal deck or brief as a PDF (up to 20 MB). You can add target segments, a geographic focus, excluded states, industries and written instructions. Scrappy reads the brief and creates, in one go:
- a campaign in
DRAFTwith the deal parameters filled in, - a profile type describing the kind of company you are targeting,
- matching rules for scoring those profiles,
- search queries for source discovery, and
- a summary of the brief.
Work through the steps
The campaign page lays the work out in order. You can stop after any step and come back.
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Deal definition | You set or review the deal parameters. |
| Source discovery | AI searches for sites that list companies matching the deal. You choose which to keep. |
| Matching configuration | Scrappy suggests matching rules from the deal parameters. Edit or accept them. |
| Run scraping | Activate the chosen sources and run scraping jobs from the Sources page, then return. |
| LinkedIn enrichment | Enrich the contacts at your target companies from the Leads page. |
| Commonality analysis | AI looks for shared background between you and the people at each account. |
| Results | The top accounts, ranked by fit, with outreach angles for each. |
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
DRAFT | The campaign is being configured. |
DISCOVERING | Source discovery is in progress. |
SCRAPING | Scraping jobs are running. |
ENRICHING | Enrichment is in progress. |
ANALYZING | AI analysis is in progress. |
COMPLETE | The campaign has finished. |
PAUSED | The campaign is temporarily paused. |
FAILED | A step failed. |
Outreach templates
A campaign can hold up to 20 email templates. Each has a subject, an HTML body with an optional plain text version, and a tone: professional, casual, friendly or formal. Use placeholders such as {{firstName}} and {{companyName}} for personalization.
Two optional settings control what happens after the first email:
- Follow-up automation: how many days to wait without a reply, the maximum number of follow-ups, and whether to stop when someone replies.
- Response automations: an action to take for each kind of reply. The reply kinds are interested, not interested, meeting request, question, out of office, unsubscribe and other. The actions are auto reply, notify, tag the lead and move stage.
When the campaign is ready, export its leads to an AngelSend project, optionally with a template attached and limited to valid emails. See Cold email with AngelSend.
Use the API
A campaign belongs to the project named in the x-project-id header. name and dealParams are required.
curl -X POST https://scrappy.gg/api/campaigns \-H "Authorization: Bearer sk_your_api_key" \-H "Content-Type: application/json" \-H "x-project-id: project_123" \-d '{"name": "Q1 Bridge Lenders","description": "Target bridge lenders for $10M+ deals","dealParams": {"dealSizeMin": 5000000,"dealSizeMax": 50000000,"constructionLoanTypes": ["bridge", "term"],"specialtyStructures": [],"excludeStates": [],"notes": "Focus on multifamily"}}'
Each step has its own endpoint:
# Find sources that fit the dealcurl -X POST https://scrappy.gg/api/campaigns/CAMPAIGN_ID/discover-sources \-H "Authorization: Bearer sk_your_api_key"# Get suggested matching rulescurl -X POST https://scrappy.gg/api/campaigns/CAMPAIGN_ID/suggest-matching \-H "Authorization: Bearer sk_your_api_key"# Read the accounts, ranked by fitcurl https://scrappy.gg/api/campaigns/CAMPAIGN_ID/ranked-accounts \-H "Authorization: Bearer sk_your_api_key"
To create a campaign from a brief, post the PDF as base64 to POST /api/campaigns/from-brief. To extract deal parameters from a pitch deck without creating anything, use POST /api/campaigns/analyze-deck.
