Browserbase alternative
A Browserbase alternative with the residential exit in the price.
Browserbase sells hosted browsers and bills residential proxy traffic by the gigabyte. Scrappy runs real Chrome on a residential exit with that traffic included, and keeps each saved login on its own fixed IP.

What an hour costs
| One browser hour | Scrappy | Browserbase |
|---|---|---|
| Browser time | $0.86–$1.17 | $0.12 |
| Residential proxy, per GB | Included | $12.00 |
| An hour moving 100 MB of residential traffic | $0.86–$1.17 | $1.32 |
Scrappy's range is the published packs, best to smallest; Browserbase's figures are its Developer plan ($20 a month before usage), read from its pricing page on 1 October 2026. On our largest pack, Scrappy costs less once a session moves more than about 61 MB of residential traffic in an hour; below that, Browserbase's bare hour is cheaper. Signed-in browsing measured on our own machines averaged about 144 MB an hour.
What you get that is easy to miss
Every session runs headful Chrome on a residential connection, and that connection is part of the per-minute price rather than a separate bill per gigabyte.
- Saved logins replay from the same exit IP they were captured on, so a site sees the same visitor from the same place.
- The live viewer works from a phone: one finger is the mouse, two pan and zoom, and a keyboard button types into the page.
- Claude can drive the session through its own browser tool, with clicks, typing or navigation held for a person to approve.
- A lead pipeline — scraping, email verification and sending — runs on the same account and the same browser.
When Browserbase is the better pick
If your sessions are short, anonymous and light on traffic, a bare browser hour elsewhere costs less than ours: the gap closes only once a session moves enough residential traffic. The table above shows where that point falls.
If you are already invested in a vendor's own SDK or agent framework, staying put may be worth more than the difference.
Questions
- Can I try it before paying?
- Yes. A new account gets 100 credits, enough for a few sessions of real use. A session costs 5 credits to start and 1 per minute after that.
- How current is this comparison?
- Prices and features were read from each vendor's own site and docs on the date shown in the table. A dash means we did not find a feature in their public docs, not that they cannot do it. Tell us if a cell is out of date and we will fix it.
